You know when I head out of town, something usually goes wrong.
You know, snow storms, near-life-ending boat rides, flat tires.
So when I was packing my bag on Sunday night, I only half packed because I figured it would snow on Monday, and we would not be going anywhere.
Wrong!
Monday morning was glorious!
Gorgeous blue skies, and no snow or wind.
Chance and I left Seldovia at 9:45 in the morning, and had the best flight ever. No air pockets causing me to have several in-flight mini heart attacks, just smooth sailing, errr flying.
We took a taxi to the other side of the airport (I know, it sounds silly) and took our second flight from Homer to Anchorage. It was a nice flight too.
We checked into our Hotel, and our room was pretty nice. We then headed up to the Doctor's office for his pre-op appt. Everything looked good, and we got our surgery time for the next day. We took a taxi to the mall, did a little shopping at Old Navy and Aeropostale and then we went to the movies. Neither of us had been to a movie since we moved to Alaska, that's a long time.
I don't watch TV, so I had no idea what movies were out. We Googled a few, and decided on 21 Jump Street. I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. After the movie we had our favorite for dinner, Round Table Pizza.
Back to the hotel, and desserts from the restaraunt. He had a German Chocolate Cheesecake, and I had a 3 Berry Cobbler.
Food Coma....
Chance is ready for his surgery. I snapped a picture and promised not to post it on Facebook. Yeah, whatever, as soon as he was gone I posted it.
Love you!
He was all smiles this morning, but very hungry.
His surgery took about an hour, and he woke up in recovery quite quickly, and very CHATTY :)
He charmed the nurses (just like his Dad would have) and we were on our way back to the Hotel within an hour. We will be hanging out here until his follow up appt on Thursday morning, then back home we go....yeah!
When I get home my house will have 2 less people in it. Ashley and Cody moved into their new place yesterday, so things can get back to normal at our house.
As you all know, I am a Pinterest addict. I have been pinning all kinds or random things, but some of my favorites are the recipes. I tried two of them in the last week, and I wanted to share them with you.
Avacado Chicken Salad with Cilantro and Lime.....OMG, the girls and I are hooked! So yummy. I ate it plain, and Taylor dipped Doritos into it becauase the tortilla chips were stale. (no one in this house knows how to close a bag!)
Check out Becoming Betty for the entire Super Easy Recipe.
Tomatillo Chicken Tacos. Also a new favorite. I'm on a Cilantro and Lime kick right now. I had made enchiladas for the family but I was not in the mood for red sauce, so I made these for me instead. The girls liked them too.
You can find the whole Recipe at Lady Behind the Curtain.
