So I jumped on the bandwagon and thought about this for myself this year. I had heard about people doing this before and I actually thought it was a pretty good idea…the point being that you choose one word that will be your overall theme for the coming new year. A word that encompasses what the year will be all about, essentially.
Other's have chosen words like, "Believe," "Trust," "Joy," "Love," you get the idea.
I spent yesterday thinking about my word, and I think my word sorta found me. I heard a commercial from the other room, and it said the word. I was listening to a song, and it sang the word, and as I was surfing the internet, I read the word several times, so yes, I think my word chose me.
I have lived most of my adult life seeing the glass as half empty. I don't get excited about things because I don't want to be dissapointed. I know, I know, that's not the way to look at life, but that's me.
So starting today, in 2011, I will have Hope.
I will live my life with hope.
I hope it works!
Sorry, had to say it.
Have you chosen a word to live by for 2011?
Let me know what it is, and why you chose it.
Here are a few quotes that's I found that I really liked.
~Hope is not a dream, but a way of making dreams become reality.
~Hope is the power that gives us the power to step up and try.
~What oxygen is to the lungs, such is hope to the meaning of life.
And my favorite, by Christoper Reeves
~Once you choose
HOPE
Anything is Possible.
I decided I needed a daily reminder of my word, so I threw together a little wall hanging. Then I thought I should have one for my office too, so I made another.
Of course it had to be black and pink! You don't know how hard it is to create without the option of jumping in your car and running to the LSS or Michaels. I am down to pretty limited supplies right now, and pink and black is almost out!
Must order online soon....
Although.....
I will be heading to L.A. in just a few short weeks!
Super excited to see all my girls, and all that new Scrappy goodness! 26 days and counting!
