When I signed up to do today's Thrifty Thursday, I had all these great plans, but you know, life sometimes gets in the way.
Everyone around here has been doing their canning, preparing for the upcoming winter months. I even canned some Salmon Berry Jam last week....so yummy! Anyway, those canning jars got me thinking, they are good for so many things, so I thought that's what I would do today, share some uses for canning jars.
This first one is from our Designer, Norazah. She made this gorgeous altered jar, and filled it with some homemade goodies.

How pretty!

This Pin cushion was one of the first things I found on the internet, and I just loved it. I have picked out the jar and fabric, it's the filling that I need to find. Things like that aren't really available on a whim....prior planning is required on nearly everything.

I got these from Martha Stewart. They are to keep treasures and keepsakes from a specific event or trip.

I love these....and my kids and I have made them a few times, but usually just pumpkins. I have some tiny ones made from baby food jars, perfect for tea lite candles. Just some Mod Podge and tissue paper.

Don't they look great all lit up??

A Terrarium! Great idea.

These are just photos dropped inside the jars, I think these were done for a display table for a retirement party.

And you can never have too many snow men at Christmas time!

These are cute, I love that blue painted one in the middle.

And you can't forget about the puppy!

This is not my ribbon storage, but this is how I store my ribbon. I have about 17 jars all lined up with my ribbon and ric rac. It's one of my favorite things in my studio. Shad actually found the box in the trailer with my jars of ribbon, and brought them to me because he knows I enjoy looking at them. He's a keeper, that guy.

Love this for a beach or sea themed bedroom, shells added to a jar and then made into a lamp.
OK, you know I had to add this just because it was pink. Someone actually paints these and sells them. I'm not sure what I will do with it, but I must have a few!

OK, I saved the best for last. Are you ready for this?Canned Cupcakes!

I know, right? What will they think of next? Basically, make the cupcakes in the pan, lots of spray Pam, and NO LINERS. Don't fill the cupcakes as full as you normally would. Add a cupcake, some frosting...then repeat! Great gift for the ladies at the school, or the Teachers. Yummo!
And of course we're all crafty...so we'd doll them up a bit. Great gift idea!So I hope you see those canning jars now and think...what can I do with that?? Also, I've done some fun things with cool food jars too.
