I guess something FREE would be, but the $1 Store comes in as second.
I found this awesome craft site that uses $1 Store items, can you believe that?
They have all kinds of craft ideas as well as videos.
They also take ideas
from readers if you have one.
I warn you first….you may get lost in there with all the great ideas, I know I did!

everyone! I thought I would share
another easy flower technique with you today.
Earlier
this month I made a Fourth of July banner and I had several people asking me to
show how I made the flowers on the banner.
Here’s a close up picture of the flowers.
Honestly,
they are so easy, I’m almost too embarrassed to call it a tutorial! But, I know
that some may not know how to make them so I’m going to share it anyway!

I told you it was easy! I use this same
technique on a lot of different flowers.
Even die cut flowers or flowers I cut from patterned paper. Sometimes you don’t even need to mist with
water. I just curl them and shape them
the way I want. It’s amazing how much it
makes the flowers come to life!

It was a scanned layout, so the bottom is cut off, but you get the idea. I have since learned that I don't need to be so stressed when choosing the colors of the papers, they are Black and White photos...nearly everything will look great with them! I now print tons of my photos in B&W. I also do this when someone is wearing a color in the picture that doesn't really blend with everyone else.
Anyway, this is the Challenge that I put to the Designers this week, and as you'll see, the possibilities are endless with Black and White photos!

I foresee a day of sitting in my jammies! It's a bit yucky today. I went to help out in the garden yesterday, and we got rained out after about 90 minutes. I came home soaked to the bone, and it was hours before I warmed up. The kids were really nice. I thought they were all from the East Coast, but they are from all over the country and more. The three I chatted with were from LA, Colorado and Canada. Their trip was for almost a month, and focused on community service. They stopped in Homer and worked on a farm, 17 people using 1 bathroom! And they also stopped in Seward and Anchorage and worked in a soup kitchen. This sounds like a trip that ALL teenagers should take. Anyway, they all really liked Seldovia. I just wish it had been better weather for them. We will be having a potluck for them tomorrow night, and then they leave on Tuesday.

I love all the fun ideas that everyone shared this week. I didn't think I was going to get to participate, I certainly didn't think I had packed any eyelets or brads! But I found that cute package of SEI rhinestone and glitter brads, so I was all set! I'm hoping to do next weeks challenge today.

They painted Gavin's room (and their pants) the night before.
I had such a busy week! I started my new job on Tuesday. I just went a few hours everyday to do some training, and then on Friday we had a company picnic over in Homer. We had to ride the ferry over, and I am not a huge fan of boats. Apparently neither is Taylor. It was one of the roughest days of the summer, and I'm not sure either of us will get on a boat again anytime soon! I took Taylor and my niece Gavin with me, and they both had lots of fun. We took tons of photos, I'll try to share them this weekend.
I made these cards from a some paper that I had gotten from Cindy. The last time I scrapped with her she had gotten this paper with these punch out butterflies. It matched the paper she had already given me, so she gave me a few of the butterflies too. I can't think of who made them right this second, but they are really cute.

For my Thrifty Thursday I did a lot of
thinking about some recycling project I could do. There are so many ideas out there and then I
thought that here at Scrap Tiffany we did a blog hop along that line so hmmm…
what to do?
Then I realized we all love
a good bargain, right. Well I have found

All 3 have a deal per day so you have to nab it while it is there; often
they sell out because the deals are so good.

my first ever blog post! I’m so excited!
And away we go…..
Do you record everything and anything you’re grateful for
maybe in your blog, a piece of paper, a sticky note or anything you can get
your hands on? Is it for your eyes only
or are you a bit daring and don’t mind the world getting a little bit of
insight of your little corner? Me? There are things I keep privately maybe in my
head or in a private journal. But then
there are things I don’t mind the public seeing and getting to know me. I do it both in my blog: http://jdcreated.blogspot.com
and in a ‘gratitude journal.’
I had bought a raw journal from Wal-Mart about 2 years ago,
decked it out on the front…and never touched it for about a year or so. Yikes!
Then one day found it and made a commitment to write what I’m grateful
for an almost daily basis.
I used scraps from my
stash to add a little of my style along with my entries. I decided to not use any embellishments with
too much bulk as I knew that my journal would get thicker with each page (and
it sure did, it went from 1/2'” to now 2 ½”!!!). I even used my journal to record my thoughts
during our road trip from Washington to Cali last week. Adding memorabilia such as business cards,
business note stickies, parts of menus, parts of cards I receive from loved
ones, napkins with logos, brochures, and almost anything else gave each page a
unique and fun look and set the memory in plain sight.
A simple journal is all you need at a great price. Just the other day, we did a Target run and I found this eco-friendly journal made by Banana Paper Company for just $6.99. The owls were so cute and I love the fact it was made from recycled papers and banana leaves.
